The fastest way to reach the person who maintains this site is email: ianwelkins@gmail.com. For anything wrong with a calculation or a table, the error report form is better than email — it walks you through exactly the details needed to reproduce the problem.
What to expect
This is a one-person site, and replies come from Ian personally. Straightforward questions are usually answered within a few days; questions that require checking a regulation or re-verifying a table value take as long as the checking takes — a slow, correct answer is worth more here than a fast guess. Please write in whatever style suits you; measurements in inches or centimeters are both fine, and a screenshot of a result you are questioning helps enormously.
One boundary worth stating up front: Ian cannot advise on individual cases. Whether a particular Soldier should be enrolled, flagged, exempted or separated is a decision for that Soldier's chain of command working to the current regulation, and no website can stand in for it. Questions about how the calculations work, what the published standards say, or whether this site has reproduced them correctly are exactly the questions this inbox is for.
Corrections
Corrections are the most valuable email this site receives. If a table value, an equation, or a statement about the program looks wrong, say so — ideally with the source you are reading from. Every report is checked against the regulation or directive it concerns; if the site is wrong, it is fixed, and the fix is verified the same way the original number was. The report form exists because the four details it asks for (page, what you entered, what you expected, what you got) are the difference between a report that can be acted on in minutes and one that takes a week of back-and-forth.
Requests from units, recruiters and educators
Unit leaders, recruiters, ROTC cadre and educators are welcome to link to any page of this site — the WHtR chart and the maximum-waist tables in particular are built to be shared as reference material. If you teach body composition assessment and find something here that conflicts with the current guidance you work to, that is a correction this site wants to hear, with the message or directive reference if you can share it: keeping the site aligned with the guidance units actually use is the entire point of maintaining it.
Privacy, briefly
Email you send is used to answer you and for nothing else — no list, no marketing, no sharing. The calculators themselves collect nothing: your measurements are processed in your own browser and never transmitted. The full picture is in the privacy policy.
